Over 375 young football players flocked to the stadium at Santa Clara HIgh School in Santa Clara, California, for Patrick Willis' 3rd annual youth football camp on June 11. The 6-time All-Pro San Francisco 49ers linebacker, who played in Super Bowl XLVII, has been a Teammate since 2008. He and a coaching staff of 50 instructed and practiced with the youths in order to hone their football skills.
Teammates was happy to provide scholarships to several young athletes served by Coaching Corps, so they could attend the camp for free. With Coaching Corps, college students and community members volunteer as coaches, mentors, and role models in after school sports programs serving boys and girls in under-resourced communities.
Continuing its new tradition of presenting a Good Teammate Award to one camper at each of the Pro Camps they provide scholarships to over the summer, Teammates was proud to honor Lua Reed of San Jose. The 8-year-old was recognized for demonstrating the traits of a TOTAL TEAMMATE: leadership, toughness, unselfishness, and respect for the game and all of its participants.
