There was nothing scary about Friday the 13th in The Zone at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta! Instead they had a fantastic visit with the men's basketball team from Georgia State University! The athletes played Wii, did art and of course played basketball outside with the Zone patients and families. Georgia State Panthers from several different teams visit The Zone throughout the year bringing smile and laughter! This visit they also brought basketballs and posters that they signed for each child. What a great way to spend Friday the 13th!
“It is great to see student athletes understanding how to give back!’ said Jason Grahame, Director of Operations at Teammates for Kids “Being able to play basketball inside the Zone is the exact reason we build them, for kids to be able to do something that they would not be able to do in their rooms!”
"Visits from athletes are so inspiring to our patients and their families. Many of the players have overcome injuries or illnesses themselves.” Said Juliet Veal, Zone Coordinator at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite
“They help remind our kids that they too can excel in whatever they choose to do!"
