Chris Iannetta, catcher for the LA Angels of Anaheim, recently welcomed over 150 young athletes to his first youth baseball camp at Villa Park High School in Villa Park, California. Iannetta became a Teammate this year, and with a staff of 20 other coaches, he instructed and practiced with the kids. The young players all left with increased confidence in their skills, which will pay off the next time they hit the field.

Teammates was proud to provide scholarships to send several young athletes to the camp at no cost. The scholarships were presented through Coaching Corps, where motivated college students and community members serve as volunteer coaches, mentors, and role models in afterschool sports programs serving girls and boys who live in under-resourced communities.

In keeping with its new tradition of presenting a Good Teammate Award to one camper at each of the Pro Camps they provide scholarships to over the summer. Teammates was proud to recognize 7-year-old Marcos Mendivil of San Jacinto for demonstrating the traits of a TOTAL TEAMMATE: leadership, toughness, unselfishness, and respect for the game and all of its participants.
