Heather O'Reilly, three-time Olympic Gold medalist and Boston Breakers midfielder, welcomed 200 athletic hopefuls to her inaugural youth soccer camp at Suffolk County Community College in Brentwood, New York, last month. O'Reilly, who has been a Teammate since 2010, and her coaching staff of 25 instructed, drilled, and mentored the kids, who were eager to learn from the two-time National College Champion.
Teammates for Kids was happy to provide scholarships through Tickets for Kids Charities. The scholarships allowed several youths to attend the camp for free. The mission of Tickets for Kids Charities is to enrich the lives of low-income and at-risk children and their families through inclusion in a variety of activities and events that are both entertaining and inspirational.
Francesca Robiglio, age 11, of West Islip, New York, won the Good Teammate Award at this camp. Teammates presents the award to one athlete at each camp who best embodies the traits of a TOTAL TEAMMATE: leadership, toughness, unselfishness, and respect for the game and all of its participants.
