An A-List of athletes and donors came together at a glittering event to raise $1 million for the complete remodel of the Child Life Zone at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. The event was held at the beautiful home of Tony and Mary Gracely with attendees including current Houston Texans players Matt Schaub, Shane Lechler and Jon Weeks, former Houston Astros player Craig Biggio, current Major League Baseball players Jay Bruce and Jed Lowrie, noted philanthropists John and Laura Arnold, and Texas Children’s President and CEO Mark Wallace.

The original Zone at Texas Children's Hospital was built in 2001. In keeping with Teammates for Kids' mission not only to build, but also to maintain Child Life Zones, the time has come for a remodel. The kids and families visit the new space opening in the spring of 2014 will see all new electronics, games, books, a teen space, and a recording studio/theater!

Teammates Co-Founder Garth Brooks commented on the event saying, "It was a great night, maybe even the perfect night. I watched the dream come true. I watched the best athletes, the best donors, the best doctors, all being teammates with each other for the sake of helping children in need. That was the goal when we started this foundation, and it will remain the goal. I am very proud of how the entire day played out."
