Teammate and Tennessee Titans quarterback Jake Locker hosted a youth football camp on July 11 and 12 at Battle Ground Academy in Franklin, a suburb of Nashville. Over 250 kids were privileged to learn football fundamentals from Locker and several local coaches, not to mention special guest coach Garth Brooks. Fifteen youth from the Boys & Girls Club of Middle Tennessee were guests of Teammates for Kids.
Locker, the 8th pick in the 2011 NFL draft, out of the University of Washington, became a Teammate last season.
”Having Garth at the camp was wild,” said Locker. “He was really into how the kids were doing and excited about the opportunity to toss the ball around with them. For him to take the time out to come and spend the day with us at the camp spoke volumes to his character. It was an example of why and how his foundation impacts so many lives and touches the lives of countless kids.”
"This was FANTASTIC!!!” Garth exclaimed. “Getting to actually see how the foundation is touching kids is the best! And as far as Jake goes, he makes me want to be a better man ... great guy."
