Matt Forte, running back for the Chicago Bears, hosted his 2nd annual youth football camp earlier this month at Maine East High School in Park Ridge, Illinois, outside Chicago. The camp drew 240 young athletic hopefuls who were eager to learn and practice football fundamentals with the 2-time Pro Bowler and 2nd round NFL draft pick from 2008. Forte and a coaching staff of 30 made it an unforgettable day.

Forte became a Teammate in 2013, and Teammates provided scholarships to the Boys and Girls Club of Lake County that enabled several youths to attend his camp at no charge. The Boys and Girls Club is one of Lake County’s greatest resources, providing a constant source of hope and direction for youth.

London Cabrera, age 8, of Peru, Illinois, received the Good Teammate Award at Forte’s camp. Teammates has begun a new tradition of presenting the Good Teammate Aware to one camper at each of the Pro Camps they provide scholarships to over the summer. The recipient must demonstrate the traits of a TOTAL TEAMMATE: leadership, toughness, unselfishness, and respect for the game and all of its participants.
