May was a busy month for the planned Child Life Zone at Children’s Hospital and Clinics of Minnesota, located in St. Paul. Teammates held an incredibly successful fundraiser, hosted by Teammates co-founder Garth Brooks and his wife, Trisha Yearwood, and attended by 200 people from the local community who came together to support this much-needed and highly anticipated endeavor.

In late May the hospital began demolition of an existing space to make room for the 3,800 square-foot interactive/therapeutic Child Life Zone on its St. Paul Campus, which is expected to open toward the end of this year. The Zone will be the first phase of what will become a Family Amenities floor for all of the hospital’s patients and families. Once completed, this floor will have a family resource library, financial counseling, and a Ronald McDonald House. It will truly be one of the highlights of the growing campus in St. Paul.
