Odell Beckham, Jr., wide receiver for the New York Giants, hosted a youth football camp last month at Kean University in Union, New Jersey. The camp drew 505 young athletic hopefuls who were eager to learn and practice football fundamentals with the 3-time Pro Bowler and 2014 NFL Offensive Rookie-of-the-Year. Beckham, Jr. and a coaching staff of 55 made it an unforgettable day.
This is OBJ’s first year as a Teammate, and Teammates For Kids provided scholarships to the Tickets for Kids Charities that enabled several youths to attend his camp at no charge. Tickets for Kids Charities is dedicated to the equitable access of cultural resources for low-income and at-risk children.
Xavier Bala, age 10, received the Good Teammate Award at Odell’s camp. Teammates presents the Good Teammate Award to one camper at each of the Pro Camps they provide scholarships to over the summer. The recipient must demonstrate the traits of a TOTAL TEAMMATE: leadership, toughness, unselfishness, and respect for the game and all of its participants.
