Kevin Durant, forward for the Oklahoma City Thunder, held his annual basketball camp in August on the courts of the Huston Huffman Fitness Center on the campus of the University of Oklahoma in Norman. A sold-out clinic of over 600 local kids joined Durant to learn the fundamentals of basketball from the 3-time NBA scoring leader and 4-time NBA All-Star, along with other local basketball coaches. Ten kids from the Boys & Girls Club of Oklahoma City were guests of our Foundation. Durant, a 2012 Olympic gold medalist, became a Teammate in 2009.
"I love meeting the kids and being in the gym," said Durant. "Seeing these kids running up and down the court reminds me of when I was a kid. It’s always cool to come out and teach them a few things, as well. It makes me happy to see all the kids smiling.”
"The Thunder has stolen the hearts of all us Okies," added Teammates co-founder Garth Brooks. "The team has been a gift to our state. Kevin has been the face of that gift. His love for his family, team, the game and the kids is very apparent when you see him and/or meet him."
