Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer, hosted his Youth Football Camp last week at the TCO Performance Center in Eagan, Minnesota on May 19 & 20. Over 729 boys and girls improved their football skills and overall athletic capabilities under the guidance of Zimmer and his staff of coaches. Mike has been head coach of the Vikings for the past 5 seasons. Prior to that, he was an assistant coach for the Dallas Cowboys when they won Super Bowl XXX.

Teammates proudly provided scholarships that allowed several youths to attend the camp for free. These scholarships were given through the Mike Zimmer Foundation which is dedicated to better the lives of children in need by helping them chase their dreams, motivating them to do so and promote a healthy and active way of living as well as stress the importance of education, hard work, and teamwork.

The Foundation continues to present a Good Teammate Award to one camper at each of the Pro Camps where they provide scholarships. The award is given to a camper in recognition of his or her traits of a TOTAL TEAMMATE: leadership, toughness, unselfishness, and respect for the game and all of its participants. At Zimmer’s camp, the Good Teammate Award was presented to 6-year-old Mason Johnson.
