Hundreds of young athletes converged on the campus of Friendswood High School in Friendswood, Texas for Houston Astros Outfielder George Springer’s Baseball Camp. The 2017 World Series MVP and AL All-Star is in his first year with the Foundation. Along with a staff of coaches, Springer instructed the kids on the basics of the diamond and oversaw multiple practice opportunities.

Teammates was proud to provide scholarships that enabled children from Sheldon ISD to attend the camp for free. Sheldon ISD provides personalized learning opportunities to ensure all students graduate college and are career ready.

In keeping with the tradition of presenting a Good Teammate Award to one camper at each of the Pro Camps they provide scholarships to, Teammates was proud to recognize Cade Kearns, age 7. The award is given to a camper in recognition of his or her traits of a TOTAL TEAMMATE: leadership, toughness, unselfishness, and respect for the game and all of its participants.
