In connection with Garth Brooks' 2-night’s at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, last weekend, Teammates for Kids hosted a youth hockey camp for 100 young athletes. The kids, who came from Southdale YMCA, Boys & Girls Club of the Twin Cities, United Heroes League, Tickets for Kids Charities, People Serving People and Washburn Center, met at North Community High School. There they enjoyed a day developing their hockey skills under the direction of Minnesota Wild Forward Jason Zucker and former NHL player Jordan Leopold.
Teammates presents the Good Teammate Award at each of the sports camps where they provide scholarships. The award recognizes the athletes who best demonstrate the traits of a Total Teammate, including leadership, toughness, unselfishness, and respect for the game and all of its participants. In Minneapolis, Good Teammate Awards were presented to: Gracelyn Kinneberg, age 8 and Quinn Sayre, age 10.
Teammates will continue to partner with Brooks to hold youth sports camps at every city on his Stadium Tour. Teammate athletes in each city will volunteer their time to coach kids in football, basketball, baseball, hockey, or soccer.
